is a special day. I slept in, went to the temple with Beth, took a nap, and went to John and Jesse's to spend time with Laura and Whitney and their clan. Don't know what all I'm feeling about family. Just know that part of it is envy.

Can vegans even use cell phones?
Famous quote by our own Harry Potter. Tonight we had a murder mystery dinner, (SO MUCH FUN!) and I ate salad while everyone else ate Amy's delicious-smelling chicken. It smelled delicious, and I'm sure it was, but I'm so used to being different in what I eat now, that it doesn't bother me anymore. And, yes, this vegan uses cell phones :)

Hope.
The only thing more powerful than fear is hope. That's a thought from the evil President Snow (and I didn't put in quotations because it's not a direct quote...just sayin') from The Hunger Games, which I watched tonight with my girls. It was SO GOOD. And made me think so much.
I remember a part, I think it's in book 2, where Katniss is at a party in the Capitol, and the people are taking pills to make them throw up so that they can come back to the party again and gorge themselves some more. Terrible. While people are starving to death, or barely scraping by in the districts. I don't live a Capitolistic life-style (I live in a capitalist society), but I live exorbitantly compared to so much of the world's population. I have everything I need, and sometimes more than what I want.
I hope to do more to help those who don't have enough, whether it be education, love, food, or anything else that I can give. I hope to become more myself so that I can serve better. And I hope to continue to heal my own food issues. I feel blessed to have come to know about ETL, and blessed to be able to do it, and hope to continue to improve in this and other areas of my life every day. Hooray for hope!!! It comes through Christ and will heal every hunger and hurt.

Live Foot Plan
I realized last night that President Tanner's (I was calling him Dr. Tanner in my head...too much grad school! but today was the last day of class! :)) counsel about having a live foot should work for eating too. So I came up with a list of Live Foot Plans, and tried some a couple out today...prayer, and herbal tea. It worked! Going to keep the list in my planner so that it's available at almost any time. As Natalie told me once, sometimes you have to go backwards to realize how important it is to you to go forward!

Choices
I've made some pretty stupid ones in my life. Not anything life-altering as far as one decision is concerned, but I'm not as far along as I could be, as close to God as I should be, because of some of my little, every day choices.
I was looking up a Harry Potter quote, thinking that it said that our choices determine who we are (which they do that too), but the quote really says "It is our choices, Harry that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities."
I don't claim to be a genius or anyone particularly special. My abilities are not extraordinary. But I am NOT living up to my potential right now. I'm avoiding what needs to be done, or doing perfunctory work towards it. I'm eating too much and sleeping too little, and thus blocking out the frustration and guilt, but also the Spirit. Not okay. But tomorrow is another day, and I'll try to do better about making my choices ones that show who I really am as a daughter of God, and who I really want to be...a daughter of God who is achieving her potential. For real.

Enjoying movement
Sister Elaine Dalton danced growing up, and started running later as a way to "enjoy movement every day." I love hearing her talks, especially when she talks about running. (Trying to find one she gave at a CES fireside that was ALL about running...) I also love the premise of enjoying movement every day. I did today: essentrics in the morning, and a short, but beautiful run to Susie's in the moon and starlight with the scent of fresh, growing grass and blossoms! So blessed!

I LOVE conference.
We had General Conference yesterday and today...I'm SO GRATEFUL for a LIVING PROPHET and for the things that I'm taught by God's servants. Most of what stood out this go 'round were things that I've been thinking about/feeling...things to work on, do, change, etc. And now that I know that I was on the right page (already knew...just now have more motivation to do!) I can go forward and do!
